In a tightly contested match, Henley ladies 3s and Windsor battled to a 1-1 draw. The game started off at a measured pace, but Henley began to find their rhythm and took the lead in the first half through a well-executed goal from Nina Lloyd, having received a ball in from Rosie Wilkinson.
Despite holding the advantage, Henley faced more pressure from Windsor as the match progressed. Ingrid Johnston-Leene made some excellent saves in goal and ensured the ball was cleared quickly. The defenders worked tirelessly to maintain the narrow lead, demonstrating solid teamwork and determination. Fiona Dunn and Martha Peach made some excellent clearances from the D. Angela Botha, Delphine Roff and Chloe James worked hard to ensure the ball was distributed effectively up the wing to Fleur Wood who made some great runs. Evie Porter and Sophie Winpenny carried the ball well into the D and made great attempts to find a Henley sticks - but no further goals were forthcoming.
The second half saw Windsor equalise, sneaking in a goal that brought the score to 1-1. This prompted Henley to rally and push for the win, resulting in several short corners, but they were unable to convert any into a decisive goal. Poppy Williams found space in the D and had a shot on goal which was unfortunately cleared by the Windsor keeper. Charlotte Irving and Tilly Costa were instrumental in midfield, controlling play and distributing the ball effectively, while Rosie Wilkinson worked hard to push forward towards the D. Both teams displayed commendable effort throughout the match and while Henley fought hard for the three points, they ultimately settled for a draw and have come away with plenty to work on moving forward.
