Super Saturday didn’t just belong to the Red Roses — it was a day to remember for Henley Hockey Club, too. Set against the stunning backdrop of Shiplake College, Henley Ladies 2s delivered a statement performance with a resounding 6-0 victory over the always-tough Amersham & Chalfont.

From the very first whistle, Henley came out flying — intensity high, passes sharp, and movement slick. The tone was set early, with the team pressing hard and creating space all over the pitch. The reward? Three first-half goals, each one a testament to Henley’s team chemistry and unselfish play. Hayley Munt opened the scoring, Chloe Lyons then added the second, before Amelie Bayfield rounded off the half with a well-taken third — all three goals born out of brilliant link-up play and relentless pressure.

A typically composed, encouraging, and strategic half-time talk from coach Hayley Rogers re-energised the squad, and they hit the second half with even more intent. The pace didn’t drop. Creativity flowed, and the defence stayed rock solid, snuffing out any threats and feeding quality ball through the lines.

Henley continued to dominate, and the goals kept coming. Chloe and Amelie each doubled their tally, both showing great composure in front of goal. And to cap off a brilliant team display, captain Emma Buckham-Hedges fired home her first goal of the season, sparking well-earned celebrations from the sidelines.

From back to front, this was a full team performance — gritty defending, intelligent passing, and attacking flair all on display. A clean sheet, six goals, and three points in the bag.
