The visitors made a strong start and took the lead within the first five minutes. Henley then had a solid period of play and were rewarded with the equaliser scored by Lou England from a well worked and practiced short corner. The visitors took control of the game scoring two consecutive goals making the score at the end of the first half 1-3. After the break, Henley came out hard but were rocked by an early goal by the visitors bringing the score line to 1-4. Henley’s defence now consolidated with Kat Green, Mel Joyce and Kath Draycott putting in some good work and solid tackles with some fine saves from keeper Hannah Lavis, preventing the visitors from increasing their lead. Henley now entered into a good period of play distributing the ball well between defence, mid-field and forwards, which resulted in a consolation goal after some well-timed runs from the forward players Flic Jefferis, Hannah Jeremy, Emma Buckham Hedges and Charlotte Cockerton who got herself on the score sheet with the final goal of the game making the result 2-4. A mention should go to the mid-field players, Lou England, Jem Barham, Ellie Roseff, Meg Moran, Georgie Metcalfe and Katie Butler who worked tirelessly both in defence and breaking forward, with some great distribution up the lines to get behind the oppositions defence.
