The match started with a high intensity and it was obvious both teams were up for a physical battle and it was Maidenhead who made the breakthrough shortly into the first half with a well struck short corner.
Henley responded so well to the early set back and were soon creating good chances to score. It was Emma Buckham-Hedges who took the first one though finishing calmly from a rebound from strike partner Charlotte Cockerton.
Maidenhead replied quickly though pouncing on a mix up in the Henley defence and taking the lead. Henley responded again though and scored two in quick succession, a well finished corner from midfielder Jem Barham and an excellently taken goal from Cockerton.
The second half saw Henley take play to the next level and great interplay between the midfield and forwards saw Maidenhead struggling to keep with them.
Five minutes into the half Kath Draycott picked off an excellent tackle, got the ball to Georgie Metcalfe who hit Buckham-Hedges. One touch to control and one touch to shoot made sure the Maidenhead keeper didn't stand a chance and Henley were 4-2 up. 2 more goals from corners, Cockerton and Metcalfe scoring, put the result beyond Maidenhead. Then Cockerton rounded off an excellent performance with a well taken goal for her hat trick.
There was time for Maidenhead to score a quick consolation goal, but the final score was 7-3 in Henley's favour.
