This week Henley faced local side Wallingford, and in a bid to put last weeks defeat to Buckingham behind them they started the game strongly.

Henley piled on the pressure early and won short corner after short corner, and it was during one of these that the first break through was made. Having tried a few options, the ball was played from the top of the circle out to the right for captain Georgie Metcalfe, who took the space she had and powered the ball home to put Henley into the lead. More pressure was applied by Henley and a first attempt by forward Ellie Roseff rebounded off the keeper to Metcalfe, who again found the back of the net.

After half time the home team were a little slow off the mark. Wallingford attacked from the restart and their pressure resulted in a goal. This could have been a dangerous time for Henley with the score being brought back to 2-1, however Henley were determined. Possession was regained and then retained and forward Hannah Jeremy made a driving run down the right hand side of the pitch and along the baseline. Amidst a tangle of players she managed to find Inner, Lou England, who, with the deftest of touches slotted the ball home to reaffirm the advantage.

Following this, Henley went from strength to strength, and with the forwards converting many a passage of play into the advantage of short corners it was from these that Henley managed to seal the win. Firstly a cracking shot from Kat Green rebounded off the keeper at Rachel Herbert, who, in space waited for the ball to bounce and then connected with the ball in the air to score a storming volley from near the penalty spot. The final goal was scored again from a rebound and it was Herbert to whom the ball fell once again. Known for the strength in her hit, she let the ball fly towards the backboard where it landed with a resounding thwack! All in all a great win for Henley and a bounce back up the table.
