Henley Men’s 4 slipped to a 6–2 defeat away to Stoke Green 2, but the scoreline didn’t reflect a determined and energetic performance at Hershel Grammar School.
Henley started brightly, pushing into the Stoke Green 23 early on and threatening an opener. Against the run of play, Stoke Green snatched the first goal, but Henley hit back almost immediately — Noel Williams bursting through the defence and finishing cleanly to level. Despite continued pressure, two unfortunate concessions left Henley 3–1 down at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern: confident distribution and strong phases of play, but limited chances in the final third. Stoke Green added a fourth before Henley produced their best move of the match — Williams and Sam Austin combining at pace down the right, the initial shot saved, and Piers Edgell scooping home the rebound to make it 4–2.
Henley fought hard to the end, but two late Stoke Green goals sealed the result: Stoke Green m2 (6) – Henley m4 (2).
