Henley Men's 2s were looking to get back to winning ways after their away defeat to Marlow last time out, and they found that form in emphatic fashion with a dominant 6-1 victory at Yateley Men's 1s.

The visitors made a fast start and, by rights, should have been several goals to the good inside the opening half hour however, Yateley's defence held firm and the hosts looked dangerous on the counter, attacking with pace whenever the opportunity arose.

The deadlock was eventually broken by Tim Herbert, who netted the first of a fine hat-trick, his first for Henley Hockey Club.

Geoff Joseph continued his good form with two more goals, and Robert Farina capped off a fine display with a powerful short corner strike.

Yateley grabbed a late consolation goal, but by then the damage had been done.
