Newbury and Thatcham 4-2 Henley
Henley made the trek to Newbury and Thatcham on a surprisingly sunny Saturday for February. Henley looked to start the game strong and create some momentum which has lacked after a tough run of fixtures against some top-table teams.
This energy paid off with an early short corner being converted by Fergus Heggie giving Henley an early lead. Newbury responded soon after with some strong pressing causing a turnover and a quick counterattack being converted into a goal. The rest of the first half remained an end-to-end affair with both sides having numerous chances, Newbury came out on top after converting two of these chances, going into the break 3-1.
The second half saw Henley come out fighting and score first through a good team attack, which Fergus found himself at the end of. With the score now 3-2 the intensity went up a notch. Newbury had the final say, scoring their 4th goal and securing the win 4-2.
