Henley delivered a composed and disciplined performance to secure a 2–0 victory over Marlow in the return fixture of the league part 2.
The home side controlled large parts of the game and made the most of their set-piece opportunities, with both goals coming from well-worked penalty corners. Marlow too applied pressure, making the home defence work hard, however with Lee Rowe-Elliot alert between the posts, the Henley side stood firm.
It was Jonny Taylor who opened the scoring in the first half, firing home after a crisp routine that left the Marlow defence scrambling.
After the break, Henley continued to press with confidence, and their pressure paid off when Rhys Joyce doubled the lead, again converting from a penalty corner.
Marlow battled hard throughout, but Henley’s organisation, energy, and clinical finishing proved the difference. In a strong all-round display, it was Henley who came out deserved winners.
