Exciting opportunity to work with the Men's Teams starting this summer

Job Title: Men's Coach - Henley Hockey Club
Contract Type: Part-time (1 year with the possibility to evolve the role and renew)

Henley Hockey Club is a diverse, friendly and sociable club. We have a high-performance foundation, with the Men's 1st Team playing in South Central Premier Division 1, and with 4 further Men's Teams spread throughout the South Central leagues.

Henley has a reputation of being inclusive, for providing young players the opportunities to develop at the pace right for them, for providing the opportunity to all players to progress in and up through teams. We have strong recent success in providing a solid foundation to build on and assist young players to progress to regional and international level.

Henley are looking to appoint a coach who can develop the high-performance aspects of the club, enhance our development pathway, offering opportunities for talent progression, and also continue to engender a positive approach with all levels of player.

Job Description

You will be responsible for planning, organising, and delivering high-quality training sessions for all Men’s teams within the club, with training evenings being split into sessions based on ability and potential.

You will play a pivotal role in developing the skills of our players and supporting a positive, fun and constructive environment, with outcomes being focused on both the overall culture of the club and our goals for each team.

Key Responsibilities

Training Sessions: Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Game Days: Game day support for the Men's 1st Team - full detail of involvement to be agreed with the successful applicant.

Coaching Culture: Work with the senior coaching team to ensure we have a clear coaching and playing identity which filters through all parts of the club.

Team Selection: Advise on selection with a view to supporting both the short and long-term objectives of the players and the club.

Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to captains and players.

Essential Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 coaching qualification in hockey (or equivalent) and the right to work in the UK.

Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Personal Qualities: Collaborative, constructive and engaged.

Benefits: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with qualifications and experience. Opportunities for additional hours depending on availability and requirements.
