Awesome weekend of hockey for the Henley Teams

Henley had a great weekend of hockey at the inaugural Hockey 5s Tournament hosted locally at Marlow Hockey Club. This new fast paced format of the game of Hockey went down extraordinarily well with the goal hungry Henley players.

On Saturday the Men's team stormed through the opposition to go undefeated, under the leadership of Captain Tim Herbert, and take the winner's trophy. Jamie Taylor won the coveted Goal of the Tournament award, which was hard to call with goals flying in from just about everywhere!

On the Sunday morning the Girls U15 Team took the tournament by storm - also undefeated on the day and with an outstanding 31 goals scored. Coming top of their pool, the team went on to win in the semi and then defeat the Surrey County team 6-5 in the final. Outstanding performance from all the girls with Captain Caitlin Barrass leading the way with 11 goals scored and a heart stopping performance from their young keeper, Sophia Price.

Sunday afternoon was the turn of the Boys U15 Team. The round robin format saw Henley placed 2nd in the table, winning all bar one of their matches vs Woking. Henley lost in the final game of the day to an undefeated tournament winning Woking Team - but what a formidable performance by the young Team. With 3 of the team still U13/U14, and notching up 27 goals between them, the boys were incredible.
