Henley started the better team and within 5 mins they earnt themselves a short corner. Kat Green’s inch perfect pass was met by Lou England to make the score 1-0 and give Henley an early advantage. Despite Henley’s continued pressure they couldn’t get the second goal and against the run of play Wycombe scored to level the game. Henley reacted well to conceding the goal and managed to earn another short corner which was converted on the post by captain Georgie Metcalfe. Man of the match Jem Barham worked tirelessly in centre midfield to break up Wycombe attacks and the score remained 2-1 to Henley at half time.
After half time Henley again came out the block fast and earnt another short corner. This time Kat’s pass was met my Charlotte Cockerton running in at the far post and put into the back of the net. Despite their 3-1 league Henley continued to attack. Well worked team play end with Cockerton being taken out by the Wycombe keeper resulting in a penalty flick. Unfortunately Henley were able to convert. Wycombe became much stronger in the game and Henley struggled to clear their lines. The pressure paid off and resulted in a Wycombe goal to make it 3-2.
