Enzo Cheesman hat-trick

Saturday saw P&R visit Jubilee Park, with both teams lying closely together in the league as the season end draws near a win for either team was vital maintain any hope of promotion. Henley started quickly and were ahead within 5 mins following a quickly worked long corner between Matt Carter and Simon Taylor fed to Tim Cima finding Enzo Cheesman with a clean strike from close range. Henley added a second shortly after following a well worked short corner routine which left Tim Cima with a close range flick past the stranded keeper to double the lead, this time setup by Cheesman. As the half progressed, Henry Davis and James Lane began to find space in the centre of the pitch and Henley continued to move the ball around effectively. Unable to add to their tally, Henley conceded a series of short corners and conceded late in the half to lead 2-1 at halftime.

Convinced more goals were there for the taking , Martyn Watkins marshalling the bench, reverted to the formation with which Henley had started the game and Henley were soon rewarded with Cheesman’s second, quickly followed by Henley’s fourth from Phil Biggs, netting from an acute angle after a flowing move launched by Adam Warner’s quick thinking defensive clearance.

Despite some late chances for P&R, the Henley defence repelled all that was thrown at them, Joe Selvester pulling off some confident clearances in the Henley goal.

As the game began to get stretched, Cima’s Cross-field pass found Taylor on the right in space, his low cross evading the P&R keeper to find Man of The Match Enzo Cheesman who swept the ball into the net on the far lost to compete his hat-trick. With the sun beginning to set there was still time for Phil Biggs to wrap up the game with a deftly angled shot which wrong-footed the P&R keeper and last defender...

All in all a strong result against a well organised P&R side which gives Henley good momentum going into their final three games of the season.
