Second win in as many weeks keep Henley in touch for promotion.

Henley continued their bounce back with their second consecutive high scoring win in the second half of the season.

Right from the off it seemed this match was already won as Alan Mortimer and James Lane made promising attacks on goal but the Sonning keeper stood strong and kept it 0-0. Shortly after, Ewan Watkins made a strong run round the defence and squared it to Neill Emmett who tucked it away but the goal was disallowed for a Henley infringement.

After this set back the Henley side bounced back and new man Tim Cima looking very impressive on his debut got a goal with a fierce shot from the top of the D following a great attacking run from Harry Wray.

The Henley side came out of the break knowing another goal would surely put the game out of Sonning’s hands. And a second goal was what they got with Neill Emmett converting with a reverse stick shot at the far post. But Henley weren't stopping there. With such a tight league, goal difference is everything so the home side used their advantage to try to increase it. Tim Cima got his second of the match with a good shot from inside the area, capping of a stellar debut. And with minutes to go Ewan Watkins squared the ball to Rupert Wiseman who got himself on the score sheet with a pinpoint shot into the bottom left of the net. Henley are well positioned for a push at consecutive promotions, a few points behind the leaders but with a game in hand and the added bonus of playing all the top of the table games at home in this second half of the season.
