The Henley 3s had another tough defeat at the hands of a very strong West Hampstead side this weekend. Halfway into the first half the away side were two goals down before they lost a key player, Ben Brindle, to a nasty head injury. Another well worked goal and some exceptional saves from Dave Bowyer led the match into half time at 3-0.
After half time the opposition continued to bombard the Henley defence but the defence mainly stayed strong. Henley struggled to find their way back into the game without Ben Brindle in the centre of midfield. West Hampstead broke on a counter attack and a block from Martyn Watkins on the goal line stopped a certain goal. Henley had a few more attacks but hey could not find the final pass and could not get round the strong Hampstead defence. Three more goals from West Hampstead led the game to a close and Henley came away from the match with valuable experience with a well-fought match.
