Henley 3s Get off to Solid Start to the Season

Henley 3's got off to a solid start to the season with a 3-3 draw in their first friendly of the 2015-16 season.
A dubious short corner from Bracknell got them off to an early start but Henley heads fail to droop at their first taste of defeat. A decisive counter by Henley resulted in an easy chance for substitute Ian Rechner to flick it past the keeper. Henley gave the opposition no chance to come back with another sterling counter and once again Ian Rechner had nothing to do other than flick it past the already beaten keeper and got his tally for the season up to two.

Having rested at half time and after an inspirational team talk from playing captain Jules Herbert the Henley team looked like they were unable to lose. A fast attack down the right of the pitch meant that the Henley hopes didn't stay high for long. A simple hit across the area resulted in an unmarked Bracknell forward being able to sweep into the top of the net. Deep into the second half Henley got a short corner after some great dribbling by Fred Newbold. With calls from the back to do something different Jules picked up the ball at the top of the area and flicked it skillfully into the top left corner of the goal. This goal upped the Henley spirits and more attacks led Ian Rechner to take an audacious effort which rebounded back off of the crossbar. One last attack from Bracknell meant that Henley weren't going to get an unbeaten start to the season as the Bracknell forward converted calmly into the bottom left pasted the despairing goalkeeper Bobby Boydell.
