Dominant second half performance sinks Tulse Hill

Henley's first match of 2015 was a rearranged fixture from the first half of the season against mid-table Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club, a match which would see Henley move back to the top of the league if they won.

The match proved to be a scrappy encounter, with both sides looking slightly rusty from the Christmas break. The first half was played at a frantic pace, with the home side taking the lead from a short corner strike, however Henley talisman Chris Green equalised just minutes later as he deflected a pin-point Ed Foster cross. Henley then took the lead through Luke Gupta, after he was superbly found from David Ralph's long diagonal ball. Gupta controlled and shot into the bottom goal with poise and prowess. Tulse Hill responded once again however, as a second short corner found it's way into the Henley goal, despite Ryan Foggoa making an excellent effort at his near post.

In the second half Henley's class shone through. They were able (for the most part) to dodge past some indifferent looking challenges from the home side, to score three goals. Gupta was on target for his second of the day after 50 minutes, then a Rhys Joyce double in the space of five minutes made the game safe for the away side. Tulse Hill managed a late consolation goal, but it was too little late, as Henley ran away comfortable winners. The final score: Tulse Hill & Dulwich 3, Henley 5. This moves Henley back to the top of the table with half the season now remaining.
