Henley sink Trojans to continue winning streak

Henley headed to Trojans expecting a tough game but were determined mood to keep their 100% win record intact.

Trojans started the brighter of the two sides and it took Henley a good 5 minutes to settle into the game and get organised. Solid work in the middle of the pitch by Joyce and Kachor ensured any Trojan danger was thwarted and the ball was spread to the wings with pace and accuracy. The first goal was a text book short corner routine which saw Gupta finish in the usual fashion.

Trojans looked to attack on the counter with their pacey forward line but any threat was dealt with by the back three of Gaze, Mortimer and Hughes-Burne.

Henley’s second goal was soon finished off by Hibberd after some neat play by the Henley forwards. The travelling team were keeping possession well, with Foster in Midfield seeing more of the ball and this continued until the half time whistle.

The second half was much of the same with another goal by Gupta neatly finished. Henley were starting to utilise the space that was opening up over the pitch and a great ball by Gupta that was heading in for his third goal was deflected in by Joseph. The final goal was converted by Green after a wayward shot from Woolfrey was deflected past the Trojans keeper.

Henley entertain Banbury at home this Saturday in a top of the table clash.
