The crowd at Reading University was entertained by this exciting fixture with end-to-end action and countless goal scoring opportunities for both teams. It was Henley who were more clinical in their finishing and they deserved the win.
The Henley defence welcomed back Hems from injury and he joined Alliston, Dino Cheesman and Hood. The midfield of Philips, Shaw, Davis and McAllister linked well with the defence and pushed the ball forward and wide to attack strongly. Fielder and Enzo Cheesman worked up front to create space and opportunities. It was Fielder who opened the scoring in the first period. He added a second in the next period whilst Philips added a deserved two more. Man of the match McAllister found much space on the right flank and was able to exploit it effectively.
This was an evenly matched game with both keepers seeing plenty of action. Selvester played well to keep a clean sheet in only his second match in goal, showing much promise with his pro-active style.
