Everton supporter has had his comeuppance

Henley Golf Club’s token Everton supporter has had his comeuppance – his quick repartee has landed him with a ‘Wembley Walk’.

As his beloved team got beaten by West Ham in their first match of the F.A.Cup, Reading were winning their third round match and as you can see from the attached poster, his challenge of “if Reading get to Wembley, I’ll walk there” has come to fruition – he forgot the semi finals were at Wembley!

So on the 18th of April, Rob will start from Wembley and walk the 30.7 miles to Henley Golf Club.

But it is all in a good cause, as through sponsorship at the golf club, he has already raised over £3000.00 for the Reading and West Berkshire branch of the Motor Neurone Disease. Members of the Club and any other local residents, who wish to join him on the walk can do so along the route or by meeting him in the Angel on the Bridge in Henley for the final stroll to Henley Golf Club, just in time for the match against Arsenal on television and a well earned pint or two.

Donations can be made either at the club or on www.justgiving.com/robswembleywalk
