This year saw the inaugural awarding of the ‘Stewart Woolfrey Contribution to Umpiring Trophy’. Stewart was a player in the men’s first team for 35 years, set up the junior section and finally converted to umpiring where he has umpired more games than is possible to remember for both the club and leagues. We were delighted to have Stewart award the trophy to unanimous winner, Jenny Buckham-Hedges.

A big thank you to all those who took the time to nominate individuals for the club person of the season award. We received 55 nominations from a wide range of members, giving the committee plenty to discuss and consider. The men’s trophy went to Brandon Smith and ladies’ to Ali Jean-Jean. Thanks was also given to Pat and Sam, our wonderful tea ladies, and Charlotte Hetherington for organising the whole event. This year it was great to have the support of Tesco, who supplied all the awards and thank yous (edible, drinkable or flower related..!) for our adult and youth award ceremonies.
