Henley 4s continued their dominant run, making it 18 goals in 3 games with an 8-1 humbling of Oxford 8s. As this Henley side so often do, they started with a sustained period of attacks, resulting in an early-deserved lead as Andy Farrow nipped in front of the goalkeeper. Ed Newbold followed this up with a neat finish from a short corner before Ewan Watkins capitalised on a mistake by the goalkeeper to give Henley a dominant 3-0 lead going into half time.
After half time the yellows continued to pile on pressure, and Ed Newbold got his second of the game with a ferocious shot which nestled into the top right hand corner. A neat interchange down the left hand side between Max Hems and Elliot Fielder set in the latter who finished calmly for Henley’s 5th goal of the game. Ewan Watkins added a 6th, converting at the back post, before Andy Farrow got the 7th, with a sliding finish after a brilliant ball from Neill Emmett. A lucky break gave Oxford a consolation goal before Simon ward put the icing on the cake with an exquisite lobbed shot from the top of the D. Yet again another brilliant Henley performance all-round, which lofts them to 5th in the table, and had it not been for the excellent young Oxford keeper, they would have easily found double figures in this game.
